If you have 5 hours or more per week for service opportunities, please consider becoming a Senior Service Missionary. The following operations/organizations have a critical need for new senior service missionaries.
Employment Services (at the DI building in Provo)
Assist the unemployed/underemployed to find jobs, upgrade skills, polish resumes, etc. Please see description at: seniormissionary.Churchofjesuschrist.org
Some computer skills required. 8 hours per week minimum. 1 year commitment. Employment Services needs 10 new senior missionaries between now and March.
Provo Transitional Services
The Transitional Services Office (TSO) supports Church leaders in ministering to those:
Experiencing homelessness
At risk of becoming homeless
Re-entering communities from correctional facilities
We assist anyone facing life challenges by offering access to temporal resources, connecting them to community, government, and Church resources while promoting self-reliance and showing Christlike love.
The TSO is a resource for ward leaders with members who would be homeless if not receiving Church assistance
Bingham Family Free Clinic – new operation in our area. The Bingham Family Free Clinic is presently being constructed at the Health Professions Building on the UVU campus. They will offer routine medical, dental, and pharmacy services free of charge to those without medical insurance or the means to pay. The clinic is seeking: Senior service missionaries to assist the young service missionaries in their duties, including reception, scheduling, cleaning, and record keeping. There are openings for twelve couples. A background in medicine, health sciences, office management, or other related fields is desirable but not required. Speaking Spanish and other foreign languages is helpful but not required. For more information, please go to seniormissionary.churchofjesuschrist.org (the opportunity listing should be online soon)
Volunteers (They will not be senior service missionaries) in medical, pharmaceutical, and dental-related fields to assist the doctors and staff at the clinic, as well as non-medical staff (scheduling, publicity, event planning, data entry, fundraising, etc.) For more information about volunteering, please go to: binghamfamilyclinic.org
